Analysis and design of reinforced concrete structural systems is associated with the complexity of construction and erection, the use of new construction materials and technologies, as well as modern challenges and concepts for ensuring reliability, safety, durability, optimization, and efficiency. The solutions to these complex scientific problems need to be widely represented on the pages of scientific and technical specialized journals.

The experience of the staff of the Department of Reinforced Concrete and Masonry Structures of NRU MGSU that include partisipation in numerous of international and all-Russian conferences, symposiums, seminars, preparing and supervising of dissertations, reviewing of research articles, monographs and textbooks on reinforced concrete and masonry structures made it possible to find an opportunity and show confidence in the creation of the scientific and technical journal "Reinforced Concrete Structures".

Therefore, Profesor Ashot G. Tamrazyan proposed to create the scientific and technical journal "Reinforced concrete structures" at a meeting of the Department of Reinforced Concrete and Masonry Structures and the Section No 1 of Scientific and Technical Council of NRU MGSU "Theory of analysis of buildings and structures" at 28.05.2021. Profesor Ashot G. Tamrazyan noted the relevance and demands for the creation of such a scientific and technical journal, which can highlight current trends in the development of the theory of reinforced concrete, innovative methods for analysis, design and construction of reinforced concrete structures, the results of scientific research, structural health monitoring of reinforced concrete structures and etc. This proposal was unanimously supported.
